Sports reserves

The Shire manages more than 40 reserves on the Peninsula. Sports reserves are available for seasonal and casual hire on application.

The Shire offers casual hire of ovals, pitches and courts for schools, private sports academies, associations, businesses and community groups located within the Mornington Peninsula Shire outside the dates and times allocated to sports clubs.

Mount Martha Public Golf Course

Our Mount Martha Public Golf Course has 18 holes of lush, fully irrigated fairways that await golfers of all standards and a family-friendly atmosphere. Our golf course invites social groups, beginners, pros and everyone in between.

Skate parks

The Shire is committed to the development of skate parks and ramps across the peninsula. We have built skate parks in Mount Eliza, Mornington, Somerville, Hastings, Rosebud, Sorrento, Balnarring and Rye. Two mobile ramps are rotated around smaller townships in the Shire.

Cycling, walking and horse riding

There are a number of trails across the Peninsula, shared by horse riders, walkers and mountain bikers.

Fishing

On the Mornington Peninsula there are some great places to fish, but there can also be some extra hazards especially on our ocean beaches.

Boating

Our beautiful coastline is host to many water activities including boating.

Bike parks

We've seen the passion for biking in our community, with many of you creating your own jumps. Now, we’re bringing you a dedicated space where you can ride and have fun safely.

Playgrounds

The Shire has 145 playgrounds around the peninsula with a variety of play experiences and equipment to suit all ages and abilities.

Aquatic and recreation venues

Our recreation centres include gym, group fitness classes, personal training, swimming, spa, steam, swim lessons, childcare and children's activities.
