Two of Australia’s finest musicians — violinist Simon Monger and pianist Amir Farid — come together for an exceptional musical event. Monger’s internationally acclaimed artistry and Farid’s award‑winning brilliance create a partnership of rare depth and energy.
Australian violinist Simon Monger is a dynamic force on the international stage — a concertmaster across Europe, a member of the Eldering Ensemble, Key to Culture – Chamber Music and More, and the Australian World Orchestra. A First Prize winner of the 1997 Australian National Chamber Music Competition, he has since built a global career performing at major festivals and collaborating with leading artists including Gareth Lubbe, Matthias Buchholz, Hariolf Schlichtig, and Matthias Lingenfelder.
As a soloist, he has appeared with major orchestras such as the Bielefeld Philharmonic, Basel Symphony, Adelaide Symphony, and Orchestra Victoria. His studies span the Music Academy of Basel, the Australian National Academy of Music, and the Scuola Cantorum Basiliensis, shaping his artistry across both modern and historical performance.
US‑born Iranian‑Australian pianist Amir Farid — winner of the 2006 Australian National Piano Award — is celebrated for his artistry, intelligence and musical integrity. Based between Melbourne and New York, he performs worldwide as a soloist, chamber musician and collaborator, appearing at major venues and festivals including Carnegie Hall, St Martin‑in‑the‑Fields, the Mostly Mozart Festival, MONA FOMA, and leading stages across Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
A sought‑after collaborator, Amir has performed with renowned artists such as Ian Bostridge, Arabella Steinbacher, Claude Delangle, Lise Berthaud, and Wolfgang Holzmair. He is the pianist of the Benaud Trio and New York’s Exponential Ensemble, and is also featured on the Steinway & Sons Spirio recording catalogue.
