Mornington: Birdrock Beach Access Restoration Works

The Birdrock Beach access restoration works initiative, focuses on enhancing public access and preserving the natural environment at Birdrock Beach.

Key components include:

  • Restoration of beach access stairs to improve safety and usability
  • Management of water-related issues within the carpark to prevent flooding and surface damage
  • Protection of the site footprint from toe erosion at the base of the cliff to safeguard long-term stability

The project scope encompasses design development, securing necessary approvals, and delivering the construction works.

Repair work is due to commence in October 2025.

Project Update:

Stage 1 works to repair the stairs from the carpark to the lookout are completed and the public have limited access to the look out, no beach access. The designs for the remaining lower stair structure will be submitted in the New Year.
