Background

The Forest Drive, Mount Martha Black Spot Project has been funded for construction by the Federal Black Spot Program. The project was awarded $240,700 for road safety improvements along the length of the road between Nepean Highway and Bradford Road. We aim to improve safety and reduce the potential for crash occurrence and severity along this stretch.

The project is currently in the construction stage.

Scope of work includes

  • Road safety barriers
  • Audio tactile centreline marking
  • A speed limit reduction to 70km/h between Nepean Highway and Bradford Road.

Provisional scope items contingent on available funding:

  • Edge linemarking
  • Apron sealing the intersection with the unsealed portion of Forest Drive
  • Virtual wildlife fencing.
